George Hsu, President | Eqqy Designs

George Hsu is the founder and President of Eqqy Designs, an interactive communications agency based in Vancouver, BC and a division of XKUBE Enterprises Inc. As an entrepreneur at heart, he began his entrepreneurial debut at an early age by lending a helping hand to his parents’ garage sale when he was only seven years old. Buying and selling household goods in exchange for quarters and loonies peaked his curiosity and intrigued him. Today, George serves as a director on XKUBE Enterprises Inc. and works closely with talented professionals who are interested in the field of web design, web development, media, communications, and fashion. “My Story”

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1981. My family moved around quite a few times while I was still a toddler and the earliest memory I have was of a little town called Shelby of North Carolina in the United States. Naturally, we moved again until we’ve hit the ever-so-beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. This is where we stayed, this is where I grew up, and this is where it all began.

Raised in Vancouver or more specifically, Burnaby, I have been very fortunate to have experienced what Vancouver is very well known for – multiculturalism. Throughout the years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many very supportive friends, colleagues, and entrepreneurs alike to share our ideas and experiences from different parts of the world.

My journey started early on as my urge to succeed slowly engulfed me from within. The definition of success may vary among each individual and I’ve learnt that success can only be measured from within. I knew what I wanted, I knew what defined my success, but I just didn’t know how to obtain it. Evidentally, this became my passion, my personal challenge, and my personal goal.

Throughout the years, my jobs included telemarketing, software tech support, IT contracts, waitering, restaurant management, teaching English, and web development just to name a few. Each job shed valuable information to my plan on achieving my dreams and understanding the potentials I had, risks involved, and long hours ahead of me.

From social networks and t-shirt companies to web design and development, I’ve tried it all and would try it again. We have also organized extravagant indoor and outdoor events such as fine dining and dodgeball. Come join us at our next event to see how much fun it can be!

During my free time, I do enjoy relaxing and doing nothing, but once in a while a little basketball or tennis does the trick. I am a big-screen movie buff and when I’m not watching movies I like to spend time with family and friends or simply just sitting back and enjoying a cup of coffee or some light reading.
